Hi, I’m Sarah Lewke, an artist and teacher based in the Okanagan. Painting is pure joy for me, and I maintain a consistent studio practice in my home studio in West Kelowna, BC. I create acrylic and watercolour paintings inspired by the landscape, floral and fauna of the Okanagan Valley.
My work an exploration of beauty, identity and our relationship with the landscape. My vibrant paintings dance the line between realistic and abstract. I take inspiration from numerous sources, including places I’ve traveled, my faith, and the Okanagan Valley. I’m interested in color and pattern, and creating interesting objects of beauty.
I am blessed with a very supportive community and I placed Silver, Gold and Bronze in the “Best of Kelowna” contest in the Best Local Artist category in 2019, 2021, and 2022. My work can be found at the Kelowna Visitors Center downtown and in many homes all over Canada and the US.
I studied Fine Arts at the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus, and received my BFA before pursuing an Education degree at Trinity Western University. I now am privileged to share my love of art with elementary and high school students, as well as adult students who take my workshops.
