Description
The triumphant climax of this series, this piece is a celebration of the fleeting, brilliant winter light. The moment when the sun bursts through the thick blanket of cloud that covers the valley so many days in the winter and lights up the snow. Its the best part of a hike, coming down Knox Mountain, slightly sweaty and cold from the push up the hill, appreciating every last bit of sunlight.
Original 24×36” acrylic painting by Sarah Lewke. Painted on gallery wrapped canvas with edges painted black, so no framing is needed.
Wired and ready to hang. Signed on front, labeled on back.
The Light Breaking Through Series
This painting is part of the Light Breaking Through Series; a celebration of the fleeting, precious winter light that occasionally graces our faces in the Okanagan. Winter can be heavy, and through making these pieces I’ve focused on the bright spots of joy that are sprinkled through our everyday lives.
